1. “A child shall lead them,” Isaiah 11:6. We know that this prophecy was directed toward the Lord; and He did lead the leaders of the nation one day in the city of Jerusalem at the age of 12 years old. Notice: “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers,” Luke 2:46-47.
a. The Lord was lost from his parents in the city of Jerusalem. They found him 3 days later sitting with the doctors of law, and leaders of Israel, asking them questions and giving them answers.
b. The parent of Jesus said: “And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why thou hast thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them: How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” See Luke 2:48-49.
2. This week end, the parents across America sent their children to Washington, DC; to speak to the Nation’s leadership on their door steps. Thousands came to encourage this nation’s leaders; to ask of them questions, and give sensible alternatives on how to heal this nation’s wounds; that have been inflicted by guns and assault weapons, in schools, on play grounds, in churches and homes across America. Their theme: “Enough is enough.”
a. They asked: “When will the politicians and president of the United States be about the ‘nation’s business?’” When will they enact sensible gun reforms; and pass laws that protect them (the children), the people and the country from “mass shootings;” and deaths from “gun violence.” They offered suggestions on how to enact; and put in place, “safe guards in the sale, ownership and use of guns and dangerous firearms” across America?
b. We applaud these young people for their courage and tenacity, in trying to open the eyes of the leadership in this country; to do the right things, to protect the people of America; those that have elected them, to represent them in their various States, in Washington DC.
c. The 2nd Amendment rights (taking away their guns) were not the issues in this march. Gun rights, will not be hampered by expanding background checks; sharing information between states and federal agencies regarding “gangs, felons, criminals and those mentally unstable to purchase and own guns and other firearms.” These precautions can only save lives; and protect every American from unlawful sales, purchases and use of guns, assault weapons, and high capacity magazines.
d. We too, encourage the Nation’s leadership to move forward with laws and safe guards to protect the People of America. I charge all politicians, both Republicans and Democrats to lead in this effort of gun reform. And do the “Nation’s business!” Let not these children’s call for change; and cries from pain, “be in vain.” They have faith in you! And we do too.
